Lily

Lily, Lily, Lily.....what has miss Lily been up to these past few months.... well, growing, and sleeping, and eating, and TEETHING, and maybe throwing in a few words just for good measure....

In all seriousness Lily has just been kind of chill. Its been AMAZING! I know, I know, I should be wanting her to be making leaps and bounds right now- but all things considered- I have been grateful the girl has taken a breather. :) She and I play every day, and chit chat, MOSTLY in a foreign language I like to call lila-tongue. She seriously acts like she is speaking, IN EVERY WAY, except actual words. We have hand gestures, head tilts, voice inflections, eye contact, and even conversational pausing. Just baby gibberish only coming from her mouth. Its freaking hilarious! Her baby gibberish kind of sounds like Chinese- no seriously- it does. We joke all the time that she must secretly be Asian or something.... :) The only real words she says besides mama and DA are "OK", "yum"(this means food), "whoa", "NO", "muh"(milk), "hi', "bye", "love", "two", "boo", "yeah", and "wow". These get thrown in our conversations randomly, and then get used appropriately when she actually wants something, or is answering me.

Lily LOVVES to sleep. Like A LOT. She asks to go to bed when its time, smiles and claps on her way to bed, and even gets REALLY mad if you miss her "I want my bed now" signals! She will sometimes go up to her crib and POUND on it with her hand and cry to be let IN!! Weird... She goes to bed a 7 every night, and usually wakes up around 8:30-9:00 the next morning. Sometimes even sleeping past 10. Then she takes a 3+ hour nap every afternoon. Sounds like heaven right? Well it is... But there is a catch. She will only sleep in her own bed, at the appropriate designated SLEEP times. No car seat naps or quick little cat naps here or there. Its this schedule- or NOTHING! I didn't make her this way- she is just plain stubborn! :) Even on our 20+hr road trip to Utah she WON'T sleep in her car seat!!! NO WAY! and she has the hardest time sleeping in hotel rooms- for one big reason- people are in there with her! WHAT?!?! She wants a room to herself, so no one bugs her while she is sleeping!! I know totally spoiled in the sleep department- but I will take the craziness of those few trips a year for the awesomeness of her sleep at home the rest of the time!

Lily eats like a trucker, or maybe just like her brother, BUT only the things she wants to eat. other wise she will spit it at you or just simply take it from you and drop it over the edge of her highchair on to the floor like "no thanks". She is kind of a diva. The funniest to me is when she wants to try something new, she wont put it in her mouth, THAT would be way to much commitment, she will simply lick it- while YOU hold it- and then decide if she will take it from you to eat it. Whatever.

She is fun, we snuggle, and play and she runs on her tip toes all around my house. She wants to be outside ALL the time. Lily carries her blanket EVERYWHERE. I literally have to pry it from her hands to wash it- only to have her pound on the washer/dryer and cry the whole time its in there. :( We joke that the blanket is like a piece of her soul or something- she cant go ANYWHERE without it. She has the biggest curly fro ever- and we love it. Lily loves bracelets and puts on EVERYTHING that fits on her wrists, and walks around like its jewelry and belongs there. She is a crack up. We love miss LB. :) (lila-bug)
