Easter Drama

Easter was really fun! But unfortunately we had a little family drama- so I didn't get too many pics. Lily had been running a low fever off and on for the whole week- I thought it was just teething, but on Saturday when it started to spike, I took her in to the insta-care thinking maybe an ear infection. Boy was I wrong! We were at the Dr office for only about 20 min and her fever started to get REALLY high. They took us back and checked her ears, and throat- nothing was wrong! Her fever was over 102! Then the Doctor started looking at her fingers and I was SHOCKED when she said she was very dehydrated! Well, then came 2 fruitless IV attempts- she was so dehydrated that her veins were beginning to constrict and we couldn't get it in! SO then we had to do something called subcutaneous re hydration. Which basically put fluid under her skin in her back, then her body absorbed it. It was so sad she looked like a little hump back! Yea- so the whole experience took about 3.5 hours! And they had to do catheters, and blood samples... It was miserable! The worst part- NO ANSWERS!! They STILL don't even know why. Lame. Mean while the kids did all of their egg coloring, hunting and partying here with my wonderful neighbors. Patrick and I missed it all! Easter morning they woke up and were in and DONE with their baskets before we even made it out to see! But the good news- Lily started feeling MUCH better the very night we got home, the kids had a fabulous Easter, and I finally got some sleep. :) I am VERY thankful to my Father in Heaven for an Easter Sabbath that brought Peace (although it was FAR from our usual experience).

Poor little girl. I am glad she is feeling better.

Oh my gosh! How scary and strange! You never want anything to be wrong with your kids, expecially when they're so little and can't tell you they're hurting. Oh, poor Lils.
We had a dramatic Easter too, but not nearly so bad as yours!

the photo was the WORST!!! I still look at it & it breaks my heart. Her eyes filled with tears & little band-aids on her arms from failed attempts. I just wanted to hold her!!!
