KK- a Summer in Reverse

Kailah has had a great summer! She has show that she is an amazing older sister, an awesome student, a fish-like swimmer, a fantastic chef and an amazing reader. Best of all, she's still our little KK. As beautiful as ever, she is so much fun and you can't have a bad day when she's around. Here is a little bit of what Kailah has been up to this summer...

That's it! Summer is over... Here is Kailah ready for the first day of school 2009! Second grade here we come! :)

So this summer we got to spend a lot of time in UT visiting family. We spent some time in the canyons, playing with cousins, and being entertained by our sweet Kailah. She is a silly, fun girl. She is also one of the best helpers! Cleaning, babysitting, and especially cooking are some of the things that she helps with regularly. :)

Here is KK all ready for church! My sweet Kailah is a girlie girl- always wearing dresses and skirts, and is a bit dainty. When we were school clothes shopping she picked out nothing but dresses! I think she is beautiful!

One of Kailah's favorite things to do is go swimming! And boy, oh boy, did we swim a bunch this summer! We went to 7 peaks like 3 days a week or more, and now that we are home in Texas we still go every weekend.... She is actually quite a strong swimmer for her age- and she is considering doing swim team in the spring! GO KK!!

Our school year ended in June with a bit of a surprise- Kailah received the prestigious principal award at her school! From what I understand they pick 1 child /per grade /per month. And since there were 5 first grade classes alone- this is quite an honor! She received a very special letter from her teacher explaining that Kailah was chosen because she had been a "friend to all, extremely kind and compassionate to all she met." She also explained that my Kailah "was one of the hardest working 1st graders she had ever taught, and that her love of learning lead the class room...". The principal even said a few nice things about how "Kailah inspired kindness in others!" We did not know she was to receive this award- so i missed it! :( But as you can imagine, when I was reading a letter saying all those nice things I just was so proud I started crying!!! WAY TO GO KAILAH!!! Mommy is SO proud of you!
Well, that was it for Kailah's summer- It started with an amazing award, then we headed to UT for crazy cousin and fun filled days, throw in a LOT of swimming and some great mama helping and that's it! We are happy to be back in school!!!
Stay tuned for Jack's Summer in Review coming soon.... :)

She is darling and from all the pictures (and the limited time I have spent with her) she looks like a pistol!
